-
X01 Series Composite Filament
-
A simple plug and print type filament that produces greatly increased stiffness and strength, our X01 Series Composite Filament was designed just for that. Specially blended with glass fibers to maximize strength without sacrificing printability and finish. Applicable for use when pure ABS and PLA is not strong or stiff enough. Our X01 Series comes in three forms
-
Z01 Series Composite Filament
-
For prints that require even more strength on the industrial level we have designed our Z01 Series Composite Filament specifically for just that. This composite filament is blended with a specially sourced glass fiber to make it even stronger. This filament requires a minimal 1.0mm diameter nozzle and applicable settings for proper printer function. We recommend this filament for those larger prints that require even more strength than our X01 Series Composite Filament can provide. An added benefit of using the 1.0mm nozzle or larger is also reduced print times and a innate increase to strength. The Z01 Series also comes in the same three forms of PLA, ABS and PP

-
FAQ
-
What is PLA? PLA stands for Poly-Lactic Acid and is a plastic derived from plants. It is considered an environmentally friendly bioplastic that has uses ranging from grocery bags to medical implants. What is ABS? ABS stands for Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene which is a petroleum based plastic. It has become a standard in the industry for most plastic parts, ranging from trim pieces in vehicles to toys such as Legos. What is PP? PP stands for Polypropylene and is a plastic that is also derived from petroleum. PP is usually used for parts that require constant movement such as hinges and plastic food or beverage containers. What is a composite? A composite is a material that is made up of two or more elements to create a new more desirable material. Concrete and FRP (fiber-reinforced plastics) are the two most common types. What is a glass fiber? A glass fiber is exactly as it sounds, a thin strand of glass. These can come in varying diameters and lengths depending on your application. What are the advantages of a composite material? The dramatic increases in strength of composites are apparent in the end products, while significant weight savings is still unaffected. Most applications take advantage of the inherent strength of the fibers (glass/carbon) themselves imbedded in the matrix (plastic). Can I print this material in my printer? Yes, our X01 series filament requires no modification of your PLA/ABS/PP capable printers. Is this filament with fiberglass safe to handle without gloves? It is not necessary, but recommended for those rare instances that may occur. Will this material harm my printer? No, these filaments will not harm your printer, but you may experience a minor increase in nozzle wear. What does a finished product look and feel like? The printed products will have a matte finish, but can be post-processed with your preferred solutions. All of our filaments can be sanded to a smooth finish or similar to other ABS prints, it can be finished with acetone to give it a smoother look and feel.
